Success Story: KC Tools
Project: Developed a line of wet saws for the home centers to outplace QEP; needed to improve the product ease of use and quality, add new, innovative features and keep it at a comparable cost. Challenges: The current QEP products are made in China so product costs were an issue. In addition, there hadn't been any new innovation in many years and it was very much needed. Results: The new wet saws had many new innovative features and were preferred by the end-user in almost every case. They were easier to use and comparable in cost. The program was completed on time and budget. Several Patent Pending features were developed and are patent pending. The project is currently being put into production.

Success Story: ELD Products, Inc
Project: New Start up Company with a novel product idea. ELD Products contacted DJalbert Design looking for help turning their patent pending idea into a product. Challenges: Work within a tight development budget yet deliver a high quality project meeting cost and timing goals. Results: All the parts were quickly designed, prototyped and tested. Working with ELD's contract Asian supplier, the designs were tooled, evaluated and corrected. The final product was on the water 8 months after the first meeting.

Project: Develop a line of smart pet products for this start-up company.

Challenges:This new product segment in the pet industry required the development of technology as well as the product while keeping to a tight development schedule.

Results: The product was developed from concept to functional prototypes in 10 months and on budget with patent pending technology. The product is currently being prepared for the production design. Patent applications are on file globally.

Project: Develop a line of Valve linkages to retrofit competitive valves with Belimo actuators.

Challenges: Internal project delays resulted in Belimo outsourcing new product development for the first time resulting in a need for significant business integration in a high profile product development experiment.

Results: The product was developed from concept to functional prototypes in 2 months and on budget. Field research has shown initial customer acceptance. Production certification is in process at Belimo.
